Gateway Claims 2020 IndyCar Date

-

The NTT IndyCar Series’ annual visit to Gateway Motorsports Park will extend into 2020 and be held in conjunction with a new supporting series.

The 2020 edition of the Bommarito Automotive Group 500 has been set for Saturday, Aug. 22 with practice and qualifying occurring on Friday, Aug. 21. New for the 2020 weekend is the addition of the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, which will race Friday night under the lights.

“Our event will continue to evolve so that we are never presenting the same show twice,” said the venue’s General Manager Chris Blair. “We want to keep things fresh and exciting for our fans and we believe this is a major step forward in our goal of growing our St. Louis Speed Festival.

“We are working with more racing series and sanctioning bodies than ever before and are fully engaged on a very diverse schedule for the future.”

Specifically, Gateway noted Indy Lights and Indy Pro 2000 are two series it is working with to complete the race weekend’s new look.

Further details regarding the combined INDYCAR and NASCAR weekend will be made available in September when all of the series involved are expected to have finalized schedules.

Intentionally different

Apexes and braking points are a racetrack's slowest features, but they're also rife with overtaking opportunity. With no ads and an intense focus on quality, The Apex and The Braking Point podcast are just as unique.

Being unique can come at a cost, but we don't see it that way. With the value-for-value model, a partnership between The Apex and its readers can be formed — something far more valuable than ad revenue.
