Photos: 2018 Chevrolet Dual in Detroit

A collection of the favorite photographs captured by The Apex’s Gannon Burgett during the Verizon IndyCar Series’ 2018 visit to the Raceway at Belle Isle Park.

As the lone doubleheader on the schedule, the “Dual in Detroit” produced two victors. Scott Dixon turned impressive speed and flawless strategy into a win in Race 1 just 24 hours before Ryan Hunter-Reay forced Alexander Rossi into a mistake late in Sunday’s race to swipe top honors in Race 2.

Having been in action every weekend since May’s INDYCAR Grand Prix, IndyCar will race again this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway for the DXC Technology 600 on June 9.

Intentionally different

Apexes and braking points are a racetrack's slowest features, but they're also rife with overtaking opportunity. With no ads and an intense focus on quality, The Apex and The Braking Point podcast are just as unique.

Being unique can come at a cost, but we don't see it that way. With the value-for-value model, a partnership between The Apex and its readers can be formed — something far more valuable than ad revenue.

Going beyond race weekends and who said what, we aim to analyze and bring perspective to prevalent IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and NTT IndyCar Series topics in feature articles like these.
