Launched in November 2015, The Apex inaugurates its ninth month of existence with the launch of The Braking Point, a new podcast primarily devoted to covering the Verizon IndyCar Series.

As the official podcast of The Apex, The Braking Point will be released weekly. Each episode will be hosted by Editor in Chief Aaron Durant and Executive Editor Ben Hinc. The show will feature a conversational atmosphere as both Aaron and Ben discuss races, headlines and general topics surrounding North America’s premier open-wheel series.

“Both Aaron and I felt it was time to bring readers of The Apex a podcast that reflects our goals and aspirations,” said Hinc. “We’re pleased to launch a new brand in The Braking Point, which aims to extend The Apex in a meaningful way.”

The Braking Point seeks to be the only podcast an IndyCar fan will need throughout the year. Combined with extensive race coverage and data-driven Race Reports, The Braking Point will serve as the perfect companion of The Apex’s IndyCar coverage.

Unique to the podcast and leveraging the breadth of coverage found at The Apex, The Braking Point may also delve into topics outside of IndyCar, bringing in subjects from other series such as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship and the Mazda Road to Indy developmental ladder.

“As our official podcast, The Braking Point will reflect the commitment to quality that is the cornerstone of The Apex,” said Durant. “We want it to be the best IndyCar-focused podcast out there while offering something extra and we’re excited for the opportunity to reach our readers in a new format.”

Listeners will be able to interact with The Braking Point in a variety of ways. The show uses the hashtag #BrakingPoint on Twitter and both Aaron and Ben will be watching for tweets with the goal of featuring listener feedback in future episodes.

For those looking to email their thoughts about the show, brakingpoint@theapexracing.com has been established for this purpose.

Finally, a hub of all things Braking Point is located at www.theapex.racing/brakingpoint and will include an archive of all episodes and various ways to subscribe to the podcast.

The Apex will release the first episode of The Braking Point covering the Iowa Corn 300 on Friday, July 15 with weekly installments to follow.
